Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions matter - start here, and reach out if you need more support.

Where are you located?

My office is at 7950 E Redfield Rd, Suite 170, Scottsdale, AZ 85260

Do you provide in-person or video appointments?

I offer therapy sessions and MFT supervision in person (in Arizona) and via video, so you can choose what feels best for you. For consulting and brainspotting development, I’m happy to meet in person or connect virtually, no matter where you’re located.

What are your fees?

My rate for therapy and consultation appointments is $150 per 50-minute session. I accept cash, checks, all major credit cards, as well as Flexible Spending and Health Spending Accounts.

While I don’t work directly with insurance, I can provide a Superbill that you can submit for potential reimbursement. If you’d like to explore this option, here are a few questions you can ask your insurance company:

  • What are my out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health visits?

  • Do you reimburse for CPT codes 90791, 90837, and 90847? (These are commonly used for our services.)

  • Is a mental health diagnosis required for coverage?

  • Does my plan cover virtual outpatient mental health visits (teletherapy)?

  • How do I submit Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement?

Please note: Consultation appointments are not covered by insurance, so I’m unable to provide a Superbill for those sessions.

What happens during the first session?

Before we meet, I’ll send you some intake paperwork electronically so I can gather a bit of background. During our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you in, explore which therapy or consultation approaches might be most helpful, and set some meaningful goals together. From there, we’ll decide on the right frequency for your sessions, whether it’s weekly, bi-weekly, or less frequent, depending on what feels right for you.

Will Nox the Therapy Dog be in our therapy session?

Nox usually joins in-person therapy sessions, though he does have a robust PTO package.

Can you provide a good faith estimate?

Yes, for therapy services. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage, or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
